Dennis Bauman

Consultant

Since retiring from a distinguished thirty year career of government service in 2010, Dennis has worked as an independent consultant providing strategic advice, primarily to the defense industry. Previously, Dennis led the Navy’s Program Executive Office (PEO) for C4I and Space and the Joint Program Executive Office (JPEO) for the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS). Prior to these roles, Dennis was the SPAWAR Program Director for Command, Control and Intelligence (C2I) and Combat Support Applications. Dennis was also a member of the Senior Executive Service as the Program Director for Information Warfare, responsible for acquisition of Navy capabilities for IW defense, exploit and attack.

Dennis also served as the head of the Naval Ocean Systems Center (NOSC) Submarine Communications and C41 System Division. In this capacity, he managed the development and deployment of a diverse array of communication products to improve Navy and Joint Command and Control and Communications. Prior to this role, he was selected to head the Operational Systems Branch of the Submarine Communications Division, and served as Software Manager at NOSC. Dennis also worked for NCR Corporation as a Virtual Systems Architect.

Concurrent with his government service, Dennis was a faculty member of the University of California at San Diego, Computer Science and Engineering Department from 1980 through 2000. Dennis received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the Pennsylvania State University. He served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, as a Weapons Officer and Qualified Surface Warfare Officer aboard an amphibious warship. Dennis earned his Master of Science Degree in Computer Science at University of California at San Diego.
