Marv Langston

Owner, Langston Associates, LLC.

Marv is the owner of Langston Associates LLC. Combining over 30 years of public service and six years of private sector experience, Marv brings a broad background to his customers, where he provides consulting services for leadership, enterprise architecture and engineering, project management, and organizational strategy.

Following his distinguished public service career, Marv served as the Chief Operating Officer of a small high-tech start-up, Chief Technology Officer of a large business practice, led large corporation Information Technology transformation, initiated Account Management practices to unify customer trust relationships, and helped rebuild troubled system development programs.

In government Marv served as Department of Defense Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO), where he helped initiate the Global Information Grid, Public Key Infrastructure - Common Access Cards, and led the Defense Department Year 2000 transformation. Prior to that, he held positions as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Navy for C4I, was the Navy’s first CIO, and was Director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Information Systems Office. 

Langston holds a doctorate and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, as well as an MS in Electronic Engineering from the Naval Post Graduate School and a BS in Electronic Engineering from Purdue. Marv also completed the Program Management Course at the Defense Systems Management College. Government Computer Week magazine honored Langston with an Executive of the Year award in 1999.
